Andhyta Firselly Utami (Afu) is a Master in Public Policy graduate from Harvard University’s JFK School of Government. Her capstone analysis focused on the implementation of Village Fund in Indonesia and received a distinction title. After grad school, she decided to focus on development economics issues, and currently works as an analyst at the World Bank in Jakarta. Prior to this, Afu worked with a team at World Resources Institute on initiatives that radically improved transparency in forest and land use governance and climate policy in Indonesia. Last summer, she also interned at the Adaptation Programme at UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat in Bonn, Germany. Afu’s actively involved in youth empowerment activities, including through co-founding Indonesian Future Leaders in 2009, leading political education initiative Parlemen Muda Indonesia in 2013-2014, as well as contributing member of Indonesia Youth Diplomacy community since her appointment as Indonesia’s Head of State to Y20 Summit in 2013. Afu also has an online personality as the co-producer of Frame & Sentences, a YouTube channel of video essays promoting critical thinking. In her free time, Afu plays board games, sorts out her electronic folders, and performs spoken word poetry.
