Waskito Jati is a candidate for Master of Theological Studies degree at Harvard Divinity School (HDS). His research focuses on the intersection between Islamic criminal law and mysticism. During his time in Harvard, Waskito was a contributor to Shariasource, a digital Islamic law initiative at Harvard Law School. He writes commentaries on the implementation of Islamic law in Indonesia and Aceh in particular. In 2017, Waskito received the HDS Dean’s summer traveling award which allowed him to work as an intern at Solidaritas Perempuan Bungong Jeumpa in Banda Aceh. And upon graduation, he will continue his research in Aceh as a Sinclair-Kennedy Traveling Fellow 2018-2019.
